a simple beginning

Paul has always loved Live Edge furniture. And he has always wanted some. Sometime back he decided he wanted a live edge desk for his new office. So, … he bought a live edge White Oak slab and created his own.

Interestingly, people loved it and so he decided to make a few more furniture pieces, and people bought them. Paul’s Woodworx was born and was off and running.

And it hasn’t stopped.

Based in North Central Ohio, in Wooster, Oh, Paul’s Woodworx is a modest woodshop in his taken over large garage but is bustlingly with activity.

  • It really depends on several factors, such as: availability of product, scheduling of project, whether rush or regular order. We will do everything possible to give you an estimated date but realize it is only an estimate. A rush oder (applies to custom orders of furniture) requires an additional fee of 40% and moves the order to the first of the line.

  • For special orders, Because of the nature of the project, and the fact it is customized to your details, once ordered, all sales are final.  You will lose your deposit.  There are no exceptions.

  • We are in Wooster, Ohio, in North Central Ohio, off US 30, between Mansfield and Canton. We are approximately 70 miles from Cleveland to the north, and 90 miles to Columbus to the south.

  • We may offer seasonal or event pricing. It is totally up to management.


  • No special order is confirmed without a deposit.  Normal deposits range from 60-80% of the order and are non-refundable, due to the type of project that is ordered.  Deposits and order amounts can be paid by cash, credit card, or check.

  • In many cases we do deliver, for an extra fee.  We will deliver to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentrucky.  You will be asked to pay extra for travel, food and lodging (if required.)

  • We love black walnut.  It is preferred by many today, and our quality of wood is exceptional.  However, it is one of the most expensive woods.  We also work all the time with Red and White Oak, Curly Maple, and Cherry.  If you have another request, be sure to let us know ahead of time.

  • We use all forms of communication, but the preferred methods are phone calls or text messages.
